I use the Neti pot as part of daily bathroom routine and find that I am aware of breathing deeper throughout the rest of the day. Just love results from the Neti! and tell others I know.

I used to get a yearly sinus infection around santa ana season. I started using a neti (nasal) pot and have not had **ONE** sinus infection since and if I feel myself started to exhibit cold symptoms, I use my neti pot and the cold symptoms go away. You have to get used to the feeling of a tiny bit of pressure when you first start using the neti pot, like when you get water up your nose when you swim, but it soon goes away and is certainly not unbearable. Throw away the cold medicine and **buy a neti pot**.

I just wanted to say that I found your post - quite by accident! I did a random search for images of puddle jumping, looking for something that I could use in posting a memorial for Christina -Taylor Green, the girl who was killed this weekend in Tucson (was it really less than a week ago?) The image is startlingly good - and the accompanying article is terrific too.
I have spent much of my adult life as an educator. Early on I realized that children had a spark that we adults have a nasty tendency to suppress. I was reading "Calvin and Hobbes" one Sunday morning. Calvin was talking about the rules to "Calvinball" which are: 1. There are no rules and 2. You can never play a game the same way twice.
I was working at a camp in New Hampshire that summer, and the next day it was time to announce our new classes for the week. I had been remiss in my lesson planning, and was feeling a bit bogged down with mid-season blues. I filled out my class schedule for the week and wrote in, without thinking what it might mean, "Calvin Rules" for one of my classes. Up until the moment I had to explain the class to the kids, I had no idea where it was going. But when my turn came up, instead of delivering a long and excruciating description of what the class had to offer, I just said simply: "The only rule in Calvin Rules are that there are no rule. The only other rule is that we can never play a game the same way twice." For the rest of the summer, I played with a tribe of kids the way I used to play when I was a kid. We went out hunting dinosaurs, exploring the negative zone, talking about the logic of oranges with wings - I later started applying the concept to writing and drawing classes too - encouraging kids to play with images and words with the same abandon that they played dinosaur hunt and time machine in the field. Since then, I've made it my mission to play, at least once a day, with total abandon. Sometimes its just a walk around the block, sometimes its binding a book, sometimes its typing for an hour without thinking or worrying about what I'll write.
The simple fact is that since I've been doing this, it doesn't matter whats happening in my "larger" life, my inner life is always vital, and 99.9% of the time I am happy.
Thanks for your post! I'll look forward to more!
